FAQ
What do I get?
A printable PDF case file in US Letter and A4: the case brief, the exhibits, an answer sheet, and a sealed solution with the real outcome and the red flags you caught. You download it right after checkout, and we email you the links.
Do I have to print it?
Printing is the best way to play: spread the exhibits out and mark them up. You can also solve it on a tablet.
How hard is it?
Each case lists its difficulty and play time. Starter cases take about 15 to 20 minutes; standard cases about 30 to 40. Everything you need is on the page, and the answer can be checked with a case code.
Are these real cases?
Yes. Every case is a closed, real case from court and Justice Department records, and each one cites its sources. The documents are reconstructed for play: the scheme, the person convicted and the outcome are from the record, and small details such as individual amounts are illustrative.
Who is named?
Only the person convicted, as named in the public record. Everyone else is renamed, and victims are never named. The spotlight stays on the con.
Can I play with others?
Yes. Solve it together, or race a partner to the case code. Cases list how many players they suit.
